Grateful for You · Lighting Up Hope

The event held last Sunday (23/3/2025) successfully came to a close!
 
This meaningful competition may have lacked the glamour of stage lighting and the allure of high prizes, but it was filled with genuine care and warmth. A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers from “Hui” Charity Organization for taking the time to participate, offering companionship to every contestant, handing out water, providing meals, accompanying them into the competition venue, and even thoughtfully assisting them to the restroom or arranging transportation. Your kindness and attentiveness have made the world a little warmer.
 
Every effort made that day was deeply felt and appreciated by the contestants, audience, and organizers. We also extend our gratitude to the chairman of the co-organizing temple for personally expressing appreciation and recognizing the volunteers’ dedication and silent contributions throughout the event.
 
You are the warmest light of this event.
 
May kindness return to you, may you always be surrounded by love, and may we continue spreading love together.

🙏 Urgent Help Needed for a Family in Crisis 🙏

Earlier, we received a request for a family in need of assistance. Here is a brief description of their situation:


Esther (the mother) is 44 years old, and her daughter is 11. Her daughter has been suffering from Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration (PKAN) for the past five years. The couple used to work in Singapore, where they owned a home and a clothing store. However, due to their daughter’s condition, which requires long-term care and expensive medical treatments, they had no choice but to sell their home and business and relocate to Kuala Lumpur. 😔


Esther currently has no income, while her husband earns a living by driving for Grab. They are now living in his sister’s house, paying a monthly rent of RM500. Their biggest challenge is providing for their daughter’s daily needs, particularly the special formula milk and diapers. As she cannot eat solid food, she relies solely on formula milk, which is fed every four hours. One pack of formula milk lasts only two days. Doctors have confirmed that her life expectancy is between 18 and 22 years.


Currently, their biggest expenses are formula milk and diapers. Our team has purchased some of the essential items to help support them. 😢


We would also like to reach out to everyone for support. This little girl is in urgent need of daily necessities and supplies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

HUI Charity Organization is honored to assist Cheras 11th Mile Xing An Temple and Angel’s Heart Association in co-hosting the National Talent Competition for the Underprivileged 🎤🎶. As the main volunteer team, we will provide coordination and backstage support to ensure the event runs smoothly.

This competition is more than just a talent showcase—it’s a meaningful opportunity for visually impaired and disabled individuals to express themselves, integrate into society, and experience the warmth of community care. Our goal is to create a respectful and supportive stage where love and encouragement can be shared. ❤️

✨ Preliminary Round: March 15, 2025 (Saturday)
✨ Semi-Finals: March 19, 2025 (Wednesday)
✨ Finals: March 23, 2025 (Sunday)

📌 Gathering Time: 4:30 PM
📌 Check-in Time: 5:00 PM
📌 Competition Starts: 7:00 PM
📌 Event Ends: 10:00 PM+

🔹 Volunteer Roles Needed (20 people total):
✔ Assist with venue setup & support for disabled participants (10 people)
✔ Capture event moments through photography (2 people)
✔ Help manage charity booth sales (5 people)
✔ Register participant details (3 people)
