This Mid-Autumn Festival has been very heartwarming. Several of our kind-hearted Hui Charity volunteers—Long Island Iced Tea, Joanne Lim W.H., and Kelly Phua—worked together to make 250 boxes of mooncakes, which are being sold to the public as a charity fundraiser. All the profits from the sale will be donated to those in need. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to BeQ Group founder Loreen Ling and her team for their joint fundraising efforts, as well as Fu Yuan Vegetarian Bukit Tinggi for preparing the vegetarian meal boxes that were donated to the homeless in the Jalan Tunku area of Kuala Lumpur. Our Hui Charity volunteers, Hui Ge and Hui Jie, were also very enthusiastic in helping to distribute the meal boxes. ❤️

The distribution of the meal boxes was not limited to just one location. Our volunteers, led by Hui Ge, walked through the streets and alleys to deliver the meals to homeless individuals who didn’t know how to line up for the meal boxes. This made the work of delivering the meal boxes quite challenging. 💪

At the recently concluded charity sale of handmade mooncakes organized by 加埔七支盂兰胜会, we not only raised funds for charity but also prayed for blessings for the community, spreading love and warmth. Our board member, Gilbert NG Chee Hong, visited a single mother from Vietnam who is raising four children on her own. Due to her limited ability to communicate in Mandarin, she can only work in the school cafeteria where her children study, and her income is not stable or fixed. 😢
Although the school has tried to help her by applying for assistance from other charitable organizations, the financial pressures of her children’s living and educational expenses have not been fully resolved. Therefore, we at Hui Charity are raising funds to assist this single-parent family and alleviate some of their daily struggles. ❤️
